Music
The Christian faith is a joyful faith, and since the beginning of the church, music has played an integral role in Christian worship. Each generation of God’s people has embraced the styles of the past while continually finding new and different ways to praise God through music.
The Sanctuary Choir
Our approach to music at Batesville Presbyterian Church can best be described as traditional. We maintain a healthy respect for the historical traditions of sacred music while acknowledging and using some of the best examples of new, different, and non-traditional worship music.
Our Sanctuary Choir studies and presents a wide range of quality church music, both freely-composed anthems and hymn-based literature. The choir periodically prepares and performs masterworks of the sacred choral tradition, usually with professional instrumentalists.
The Sanctuary Choir under the direction of Susanne VanDyke participates in the 10:00 a.m. Worship Service and other special services during the year.
The Sanctuary Choir practices on Sundays following the10:00 a.m. worship service in the Sanctuary.
